The James M. Douglas Board of Advocates (Moot Court)
The Board of Advocates provides students with opportunities to develop litigation oriented advocacy skills, interviewing, counseling, and negotiation skills. BOA sends teams to interschool competitions sponsored by the American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, National Black Law Students Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association, and others. Students have the opportunity to practice and compete in a variety of simulated trial and appellate competitions. With the exception of the limits placed on first year students, all students may compete in any intramural competition sponsored by the Board of Advocates. |
