Federal Graduate PLUS Loan
Pay for grad school with the Federal Graduate PLUS loan. Grad
PLUS loans are federally sponsored loans for students attending graduate
school. With a Graduate PLUS loan, you may borrow up to the full cost
of your education, less other financial aid received including Federal
Stafford loans. Details...
External Scholarships
New External
Scholarships are now posted on our website. To view eligibility requirements
or to obtain an application click on the scholarship name unless otherwise
stated. The Office of Financial Aid strongly suggests that you apply for
any and all external scholarships if you meet the eligibility requirements;
receiving an external scholarship could reduce your alternative loan borrowing.
Remember, the less you borrow, the less you'll have to repay.
Money Tips
Important tax credits that you may be eligible for:
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)-depending upon household
income and circumstances, families whose income is under $37,000 and qualified
students may receive benefits totaling more than $5,000;
Child Tax Credit - up to $1,000 for each qualifying child;
and
Lifetime Learning Credits- up to $1,000 per year based
upon qualified educational expenses.
Since these are tax credits, you may still apply even if no taxes are
owed. Also, have your taxes prepared for free with VITA for additional
savings. For more information on tax benefits for education, see IRS
Publication 970; and for the VITA program, visit IRS at www.irs.gov
