Biography:
I first became interested in immigration law as an undergraduate at the
University of Texas and my personal experiences only increased my desire
to pursue Immigration Law. During my first of law school at TMSL,
I had the wonderful opportunity to learn from Thomas Kleven, a professor
who has helped deliver meaningful lessons about helping the less
fortunate. His experiences in LULAC (League of United America
Citizens) as well as my own involvement in APALSA (Asian Pacific
American Law Student Association) and LULAC invoked in me a deep sense
of injustice, but also of hope. It has been eye-opening and inspiring to
hear about the work being done by such aforementioned organizations. I
strongly believe that there is much that needs to be done in this area
of the law and much that can be done. I very much wish to be part of
this change.
My parents were both immigrants from Vietnam after the war and were
able to fulfill their dreams of becoming citizens. By practicing
Immigration Law, I have the ability to help others fulfill that very
same dream my parents had.
Today, Vi works at Coane and Associates in Houston, Texas
practicing Immigration Law and Labor/Employment Law.
