We
are excited at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University! We
are excited because of the following:
-
Higher admissions standards
-
Enhanced curriculum
-
Establishment of the Academic Support Program offering Bar Exam orientation
classes
-
Establishment of The Institute for International and Immigration Law, a
program offering over 10 classes in immigration and international law; and
-
Yearly increases in the number of employers participating in our On-Campus
Interview program
These
are just some of many positive changes the faculty and administration have
implemented at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
The
additions to our academic program, the dedication of our faculty, and the
commitment to learning demonstrated by our first-, second- and third-year
students result in a superbly prepared group of potential lawyers within our
student body. Yes, we have reason to be excited, and we invite you to share in
the good things happening at Thurgood Marshall. You can do so by participating
in both or either our On-Campus Interview Program and our Resume Referral
Program, in which the Career Services Office collects and screens resumes for
you, according to your requirements; or, get to know our students by submitting
a complimentary job posting to the CSO.
ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEW PROGRAM
Each year legal employers representing law firms, corporations, courts, courts,
and government agencies visit our campus to conduct interviews. The On-Campus
Interview Program is held each fall from mid-September to mid-November, although
employers are welcome to interview on campus, year-round. We offer comfortable
interview accommodations. Please contact our office to schedule your visit.
RESUME REFERRAL PROGRAM
The Resume Referral Program is available for employers who are unable to visit
our campus during the on-campus interview season. You may specify whether you
prefer direct student contact or would like our office to administer the resume
collection process. Upon our receipt of your completed Resume Referral Request,
the CSO will post a description of your firm and hiring requirements to our
students. You will receive the resulting application materials.
COMPLIMENTARY JOB POSTINGS
Employers are invited to list positions with Career Services for students and
alumni at no charge. You may submit your posting online or by U.S. mail, email,
or fax. Openings are distributed to students and alumni by direct email, the CSO
LexisNexis Web Course (Internet), and by physical notices posted in the CSO and
within the Law School.
