Institute for International & Immigration > Hague International Criminal Law Program
The Institute also co-sponsors along with the Earl Carl Institute,
a highly unique opportunity for students to participate in a short course
studying the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia
(ICTY). Students are selected through a competitive process to take part
in the program. The course features lectures and research facilities in
The Hague Netherlands with prosecutors, defense attorneys at both the
ICTY and the new International Criminal Court. The Program includes course
instruction in international criminal law and the ICTY, and mentoring
while in The Hague by Judge Gabrielle McDonald who is a former President
of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (and
a member of the Institute’s Board of Advisors, and former faculty
member at TMSL). Students prepare research papers which can be posted
on the Institute’s website, and in various academic journals.
Professors collaborating on the course are:
Judge Gabrielle McDonald (former President of the International Criminal
Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia)
Craig Jackson (Co-Director, IIIL)
Marcia Johnson (Director, Earl Carl Institute)
Samuel Jones (International Criminal Law)
