Standard Requirements for Laptop Computers
Minimum Configuration Windows® Operating System XP (SP3) or Windows 7 Processor 2.5GHz (Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor or newer) (RAM) Memory 4.0GB Video Card 64 MB (NIC) Network Interface Card 10/100 base supported or Gigabit Hard Drive 120 GB Wireless LAN 802.11 a/g/n Media Devices 24x CD-RW or DVD/RW External Storage minimum 4GB Flash style drive Recommended Software Microsoft® Office 2007 Security Software Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Firewall (i.e., Symantec AntiVirus™)
There are several different processors available for laptops. We recommend the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor which will perform well in laptops.
The Information Technology Department will not support software or hardware that does not contribute to the academic, research, or administrative work of the University.
The Information Technology Department will only support Windows based devices. We do not provide support for other Operating Systems (i.e. Apple, Linux, etc...)
Because of liability issues, the Information Technology Department will not provide service on student and/or personal computers.
