Standard Requirements for Laptop Computers

Processor		2.5GHz  (Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor or newer)
(RAM) Memory		4.0GB
Video Card		64 MB
(NIC) Network Interface Card		10/100 base supported or Gigabit
Hard Drive		120 GB
Wireless LAN		802.11 a/g/n
Media Devices		24x CD-RW or DVD/RW
External Storage		minimum 4GB Flash style drive
Recommended Software		Microsoft® Office 2007
Security Software		Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Firewall (i.e., Symantec AntiVirus™)

• There are several different processors available for laptops. We recommend the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor which will perform well in laptops.

• The Information Technology Department will not support software or hardware that does not contribute to the academic, research, or administrative work of the University.

• The Information Technology Department will only support Windows based devices.  We do not provide support for other Operating Systems (i.e. Apple, Linux, etc...)

• Because of liability issues, the Information Technology Department will not provide service on student and/or personal computers.
