As part of our mission to help low income individuals and families maintain and grow wealth, OMLPPP assists property owners in obtaining clear title to their land.  True ownership can only be realized when property is owned free and clear.  It is then the owner will be able to exercise full authority as a property owner. 

There are many properties that are plagued with liens and encumbrances that inherently cripple the value of the property and prevent the owner from realizing its full potential.   A property may have old mechanic’s and materialman’s liens that have expired or a promissory note that has been paid and simply not released.   Additionally, fraudulent transfers may exist in the chain of title that robs a true owner of their interest.  Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to find abstract judgments from old lawsuits still on the title.  These liens create what is called a “clouded title.”  The process of removing these clouds is called “clearing title.” We may not be able to remove all of the clouds in the title, but we will remove those that can be eliminated.  By clearing titles, OMLPPP not only serves to help individuals realize their interest in the property, but also helps them achieve their full potential as property owners.
