New Scholars Writing Workshop

The Thurgood Marshall School of Law New Scholars Writing Workshop is led by the associate dean for research and faculty development and aims to support new faculty (three or fewer years on the tenure-track and at the rank of assistant professor) with their scholarly research and writing projects through several initiatives. The Workshop’s initiatives have included regularly scheduled seminars, opportunities for practice and feedback, and an assigned writing coach.

In the 2014-15 year, the Workshop seminars have been folded into the general faculty series, and include “Choosing and Using Your RA,” “Nuts and Bolts of Legal Academic Writing” and “Impact and How to Get It.” These seminars are led by seasoned scholars in the Law School’s Faculty.
