Mission Statement:
The Technology Department at Thurgood Marshall Law School is
dedicated to providing timely and efficient support to the
faculty, staff, and students of the Law School. We are focused
on providing quality technology solutions to your academic and
administrative needs. We provide in-house support for all
hardware and software provided by the Law School and/or TSU, as
well as networking support for our servers and web development
for the TMSL website.
Service Description:
Desktop support provides technical support for
all client PCs, laptops, printers and classroom equipment
provided by the school. Remote administration tools are
utilized whenever possible to minimize interruptions and provide
faster service. Support services provided by Technical Services
personnel include: installs, configurations, connections,
maintenance, troubleshooting and/or the repair of computers or
peripherals. More detailed examples of the types of
service are provided below.
Incidents:
- Hardware Issues
- Software support for the software provided by the
school
- Troubleshooting
- Configure hardware/software
Proactive Service:
- Ensure all devices have the recommended configurations, software versions, and security
- Plan, execute and maintain asset management for supported devices
- Properly dispose of hardware, software and data
- Control standard operation environment with TSU release of security patches, anti-virus updates, and other software
Customer Responsibilities:
- Contact the Help desk reporting all incidents and service requests and provide an accurate description, including any error messages
- Provide asset tag of device with the issue to the Service Desk
- Allow desktop support remote management of devices to improve resolution time
Hours of Availability:
Desktop Support Services are provided to the school during
regular business hours (8am to 5pm). After hours support
is also provided on a case by case basis. To request
