Biographical Information

Ronald Hopkins is Assistant Director of Academic Success and Bar Readiness at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.  Mr. Hopkins has over fourteen years of practicing law and over seventeen years in higher education administration at the community college level.  Mr. Hopkins brings a wealth of real world legal experience, as well as an understanding about how students learn best and what students need to do to be successful law students. Mr. Hopkins is particularly skilled in being able to motivate students to understand that they are capable of succeeding in law school as well as understanding that law school is a process of information, time, and personal management techniques.  Mr. Hopkins also teaches and facilitates the Advance Bar Review Course (ABR) for 3L students.  This course is a refresher to the Bar exam’s multi-state examination (MBE), which tests in a multiple choice format.

Ronald is a 1983 graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he served as Editor In Chief of the Law Review and was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.  He is currently admitted to the State Bar of Texas.
